Hello, today, I am trying to add paypal as an additional payment method.
My full name on paypal account is Cong Dinh, which is the same on upwork account.
But upwork says:
Payment method verification in progress
But I noticed that the verified name on contracts and invoices is Ding Cong. Is this the reason?
If so, this should not be a big deal!
Can you help me add paypal quickly?

Hello- I've tried adding three payment methods (Paypal, bank account, and debit card) which have my correct name, but I am still receiiving the "beneficiary name is mismatched" error. I'm supposed to be paid for recent work in the next few days, so would it be possible to get this resolved as soon as possible?

I am having the same problem. The bot was not able to help me because it did not know how or where I could share my documentation, per the article https://support.upwork.com/hc/en-us/articles/211063768-Bank-Account-or-Payment-Method-Under-Differen.... I have all these forms of documentation, but I am unable to determine how to share them with Upwork. I should get paid in two days but I won't because I can't get this issue resolved.

I have encountered the same kind of issue. The problem of mine is, my name comes as 5 words, but I usually use two parts only as my first name and surname. So my upwork name was as 'Sunimali Attanayake' and my name in my NIC and Bank account is as Herath Attanayakelage Sunimali Virajini Attanayake. How can I solve this problem?

We checked and saw that your name change request has already been approved. It seems like you need to complete the W-8BEN Form. The W-8BEN and W-8BEN-E are U.S. tax forms for non-U.S. Persons. We and the IRS use them to determine whether you live in the U.S. and what taxes, if any, we need to collect from your earnings on Upwork. You must have this form on file before you can withdraw earnings from Upwork.
Without these forms as proof that you are a non-U.S. Person, Upwork will be required to withhold up to 30% of your future earnings on Upwork and send that withholding tax to the IRS. As long as a valid W-8BEN/W-8BEN-E form is filled out completely, we are not required to withhold U.S. income tax.
To complete the W-8BEN or W-8BEN-E, you’ll need to complete three cards in the Tax Information section of your settings.

This is happening to me as well. It's been over a week and no response or resolution. I am working on a contract as a freelancer and cannot get paid. I am so disappointed, as I do not know how my name got mismatched in the first place after going through multiple identify checks before starting my contract. Needing a resolution or a phone number to call ASAP so I can get this resolved.

Hi,
I added an account preference recently but it said the beneficiary name was mismatched. Although both my Upwork verified name and account name are exactly the same. So I had to remove my account until this issue is settled. Can anyone tell me why that happened and what I should do now? Also my Bank name appear in uppercase, that's the only difference.

Thank you for the timely response. I am adding the payment method again but in the next three days, all the banks will be closed since we are celebrating Eid here in Pakistan. I won't be able to provide any documents from the bank until Thursday.
